Silverfish

Silverfish are small, wingless insects with a distinctive silvery-gray appearance and a fish-like, wriggling movement. Commonly found in homes, they prefer dark, damp areas such as basements, bathrooms, and attics. These nocturnal pests are attracted to starches and sugars, often feeding on paper, books, fabric, and even food items. While they don't bite or pose a direct threat to humans, their presence can be a nuisance, as they can damage household items by leaving irregular holes or yellowish stains. Preventing silverfish infestations involves reducing humidity, sealing cracks or gaps in walls and floors, and storing food properly.
