Termites

Subterranean termites are a destructive pest that can cause significant damage to wooden structures and foundations. Unlike drywood termites, which live within the wood they consume, subterranean termites build their colonies in the soil, creating underground tunnels to reach wooden structures. These termites feed on cellulose found in wood, often going unnoticed as they work silently inside walls, floors, and beams. The presence of subterranean termites is often first detected through the discovery of mud tubes along foundations, walls, or piers, which they use to travel between their colony and food sources. Given their potential for widespread damage, it's important to have regular inspections and take preventive measures, such as reducing moisture around the home and using termite barriers or treatments.
